Information Collected Automatically

When you use the website, our systems and service providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, referring page, pages viewed, interactions with the website, dates and times of access, cart and session information, and security or diagnostic logs.

We do not automatically collect precise GPS location. If you voluntarily provide a location for a customer-install submission or map, we use it for the purpose described when you submit it.

How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Operate and maintain the website, store, customer accounts, carts, and checkout.
  • Process payments, confirm orders, calculate taxes, fulfill purchases, arrange shipping, provide tracking, and handle returns or warranty matters.
  • Respond to product questions, fitment requests, order problems, support inquiries, and consulting requests.
  • Send transactional communications such as order confirmations, shipping notices, account messages, and requested back-in-stock notifications.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, security threats, spam, technical problems, and violations of our terms.
  • Understand website performance and how visitors use the site.
  • Improve our products, documentation, website, customer experience, and business operations.
  • Maintain accounting, tax, warranty, safety, and other business records.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, property, and safety of Professional Awesome, our customers, and others.

We do not currently send marketing newsletters or promotional text-message campaigns. If that changes, we will provide any legally required notice, consent mechanism, and unsubscribe option.

Cookies and Analytics

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes:

  • Essential functions: Keeping items in your cart, maintaining checkout and login sessions, remembering preferences, processing payments, preventing fraud, and protecting the website.
  • Analytics: Understanding traffic, page performance, purchases, and how visitors use the website through services including Google Analytics and Site Kit by Google.
  • Embedded content: Videos and other content provided by services such as YouTube may contact those services and set their own cookies when content loads or when you interact with it.

We use Google Merchant Center for product listings, but we do not currently use Google Ads remarketing, Google Ads audience targeting, or Meta/Facebook Pixel. We do not use website tracking to disclose personal information for unrelated third-party behavioral advertising.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the cart, checkout, account, payment, or other website features from working properly. You may also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For additional information about the technologies used on the website, please review our Cookie Policy.

How We Disclose Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not disclose personal information for unrelated third-party marketing or cross-context behavioral advertising.

We disclose limited information when reasonably necessary for the following purposes:

  • Payments and fraud prevention: Payment processors and fraud-prevention providers receive the billing, transaction, device, and other information needed to authorize and protect a payment.
  • Shipping and logistics: Carriers and shipping providers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, Shippo, and occasionally another appropriate carrier receive the contact, address, package, customs, and order information needed to deliver a shipment.
  • Fulfillment and manufacturing partners: When a product is made or shipped by a partner such as Fortune Auto, Racebred Components, WingLogic, or Printful, we provide the information needed to manufacture, fulfill, support, and deliver that order.
  • Website operations: Hosting, backup, security, anti-spam, analytics, email, forms, ecommerce, and technical-service providers may process information while helping us operate the website. These providers include services associated with WordPress, WooCommerce, Automattic, Jetpack, Akismet, Google, and WPForms.
  • Professional services: Accountants, attorneys, insurers, consultants, and similar advisers may receive information when reasonably necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our agreements, or protect rights and safety.
  • Business changes: Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
  • At your direction: We may disclose information when you ask or authorize us to do so.

These operational disclosures are not sales of your information. Third parties may also process information under their own privacy policies and legal responsibilities.

Google Customer Reviews

We participate in Google Customer Reviews, an optional post-purchase survey program. After an order is placed, we provide Google with the order number, customer email address, delivery country, and estimated delivery date so Google can display the survey opt-in and, if the customer chooses to participate, send a review request after the estimated delivery date. Google processes this information under its own privacy terms. Participation in the survey is optional and does not affect order fulfillment or customer support.

Payments

Payments are processed through third-party payment services, including WooPayments and PayPal. Depending on the checkout option you choose, Apple Pay or Google Pay may also be involved. WooPayments is provided through Automattic and operates with payment infrastructure from Stripe.

Payment providers may receive your name, email, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number, order total, transaction identifiers, device information, and the payment information needed to complete and protect the transaction. Sensitive card details entered into hosted payment fields are handled by the payment provider and are not stored as readable card numbers on our website server. We may retain limited payment-related information such as the payment method, status, provider, transaction identifier, and partial card details supplied by the processor.

Public Content and Third-Party Services

If you submit a review, comment, customer-install entry, photograph, video, vehicle description, or other material for public display, the information you choose to include may be visible to anyone. Please do not include private information in a public submission. You are responsible for having permission to submit content and information concerning other people.

Our website contains links to and embedded content from third-party websites, including social networks, video platforms, payment providers, and other services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies. A link or embed does not mean that we control how the third party processes information.

When you contact us through Facebook, Instagram, or another third-party platform, that platform also processes the communication under its own privacy policy.

International Users and Transfers

Professional Awesome is based in the United States and accepts international orders, including orders from the European Economic Area and United Kingdom. Information may therefore be processed in the United States and in other countries where our payment, analytics, shipping, fulfillment, hosting, and technical providers operate.

Privacy laws and protections may differ between countries. Where applicable law requires a lawful transfer mechanism or other safeguard, we and our service providers are responsible for using an appropriate mechanism for the processing we perform.

Legal Bases for EEA and UK Users

Where European or UK data-protection law applies, we generally process personal information on one or more of these bases:

  • Contract: To process and fulfill an order, provide requested support, or take steps you request before entering into a transaction.
  • Legal obligation: To meet tax, accounting, customs, consumer-protection, safety, and other legal requirements.
  • Legitimate interests: To operate and secure the website, prevent fraud, improve our products and services, maintain business records, and respond to inquiries where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: When consent is required for a particular activity and you choose to provide it.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business, tax, accounting, warranty, fraud-prevention, safety, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements.

Retention periods vary. For example, order and transaction records may be kept for legally required accounting and tax periods; account information may remain while an account is active; support and consulting records may be retained to maintain context and document advice; and security or diagnostic logs are generally retained for shorter operational periods. Backup copies may remain for a limited period after information is removed from active systems.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or allow it to expire according to our systems and legal obligations.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we maintain about you. You may also have rights to restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator.

You can update certain account details through your account. To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. Please describe the request and the email address or order information needed to locate your records.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may retain information that cannot legally or reasonably be deleted, including records needed for taxes, accounting, fraud prevention, warranty history, safety, disputes, or compliance. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Because we do not sell personal information or disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is currently no sale or targeted-advertising activity to opt out of.

Security and Children

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No website, network, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Our website and products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated when required by applicable law.
