Install Notes:
The customer initially installed four front splitter rods with the original splitter, two of which were mounted off the bumper. Plans are underway to upgrade the setup: six new rod kits have been received for a new splitter (as seen in later photos). The original rods will be repurposed for the customer’s wife’s FD RX-7 and her new splitter.
A custom frame will be built behind the bumper so that all splitter rods are effectively mounted to the chassis. Both the original and new splitters use Professional Awesome large diffusers. The new setup also incorporates custom 3D-printed components, currently in prototype form for test fitting. Additional rods will be installed at the end plates on the rear of the splitter for added stability.
The customer is also testing a cut-down Sard wing (a replica) as front wings. If the concept proves effective, a new custom design will be 3D printed for final production.
The support rod in front of the wheel, visible in the wheel well, will be replaced with additional frame work and Volkswagen Golf door catches for quick-release functionality. Due to the low load requirements, a Professional Awesome component was not necessary for this application.
The rear diffuser setup uses Professional Awesome quick-release brackets at the rear. The front of the diffuser attaches via spikes welded to the subframe that slide into a custom bracket, allowing for quick installation and removal—approximately 20 seconds to install and 5 seconds to remove.
The project is still a work in progress, with testing planned in the coming months. The goal is to compete at WTAC 2026. The customer invites you to check out their build and follow their progress on Instagram and Facebook, and welcomes any ideas or advice.
